Recently I had a discussion with someone about what kinda of camera you "needed" for great photos. This is one of many proving it doesn't take anymore than a good eye, an awesome moment, and just a little bit of luck. I'll give you a hint it's a fairly geek friendly 2.0 megapixel camera. If you click and know which one, well please keep it to yourself.

Oh boy, I had to look at the EXIF to figure it out. I feel dumb. Nice photo! And you're right, gear isn't primary. It can help, though.

    great shot!
I'd go as so far as to say that if you don't understand exposure then better gear will make your photos *worse* ... this is awesome

The trouble with the "good-eye" theory is that many of the people use that to justify not having the right equipment don't know what "good-eye" means. Pretty much anyone can recognize the elements of a great pictures. It takes a"good-eye" to see the light and exclude elements that will detract from the image. The versatility of good equipment makes this possible.

Anyhow, apple phone or no, This picture has been processed to darken the blacks, saturate the colors and sharpen the edges.

!cwluc: I totally agree. It's not the camera taking the picture it's the person. If you have a "good-eye", and are a good photographer, then you will know how to use whatever tools you have at your disposal.
