I just had a thought: Why the hell do we still use audio CDs?... I mean, I'm not talking about replacing them completely with mp3s, mp3s are lossy (even if no one but a select few elite audiophiles can tell which is which). But there has to be a better lossless option by now... A 5 dollar decoder chip in my CD player is well worth twice the amount of songs on a CD...

Does the record industry just like their current amount of data too much?... I mean there wouldn't be any obligation to USE the extra space... It just seems silly to basically keep using .wav
