So, I bought a new laptop, on sale on Best Buy's website. It arrived today, I turn it on and find a red pixel just staring at me on the bottom half of the screen.

I plan on calling up Best Buy tomorrow to find out what I can do, if I can get a replacement laptop, since it arrived that way. I really can't be staring at some bright red dot (on black) or white on green) while I'm trying to work. I did not pay for that! It wouldn't bother me so much if it was in a corner or somewhere closer to the edge of the screen.

Anyone know if those fixes for stuck pixels really work or if people just 'claim' they do?

I know those could be fixed for TVs (tried it on our old TV actually, worked), but don't know about laptops. I think you ought to try and get a replacement. Good luck!

They are giving me a refund so I can re-purchase the same laptop at the same price. Unfortunately it is taking a very long time. I will FINALLY be sending the laptop out to them tomorrow and then waiting who knows how long until I see a refund. I needed that laptop for work the week I received it!

I had to wait for their label (which never arrived the first time). Then I had to wait for the 4th of July weekend to pass.
