I think if you convert a min. of $2000 at once, the fee is waived...if that helps?

oh maybe you're right, i need to look into that. paying for tuition in EURO is going to hurt.

If this is for a trip the way to get the best exchange rate is to just deposit it as USD in your bank and withdraw it from an ATM once you get there as EURO.

That's true. Pulling it straight from your card at an ATM or otherwise will get you a good rate. That being said you might want to change as much money as you can in Euros. You may wind up with more money when you come back.
