Public just watched the film "the fountain" ... in short, amazing film. maybe not my style aesthetically, but the soundtrack, story-line, story-telling and what the work has to say in totality is something that really resonated with me. really puts things in perspective - inspiring.

Public matthew barney: no restraint was an amazing documentary on the latest film work drawing restraint 9. the documentary did an excellent job of giving insight into the conceptual underpinnings and physical process involved in his monumentous projects - all while maintaining a sense of raw candid humanity that contrasts the otherwise heavily aesthetisized and criptic narratives. high recommends

Public finished up the last two openings of the beyond in western new york series today. as an out-of-towner it was a wonderful way to get to know the galleries, as well as the artists working in the area.

Public just accidently stumbled by the albright-knox gallery today which happened to be the opening day for the epic show "beyond - in western new york." the show is showcasing local artists on exhibit now spanning accross 12 galleries in buffalo, ny. so far, im very much appreciating the idea of this massive show and the work even more so. so far the champs from the knox leg are kathryn rupert-dazai, with ...

Public i origionally headed down to the albright knox gallery to see the two new shows; ken heyman: pop portraits and matthew barney's drawing restraint 9 sculpture. however, once i was in the space 3 painters from the permanent collection ended up capturing my attention; joan mitchell, inka essenhigh and franz kline. all three paintings are abstract to non-objective fairly large scale works. the mitchell still swirls in my memory ...
