Public If I were to organize and host a web design and development conference on the Gulf Coast at the beach, would anyone be interested in coming? It is REALLY difficult for the web industry down south, especially so because so many web industry professionals (designers, developers, sysadmins, ia'ers, etc) almost always leave the south to find their jobs. In fact, I left and somehow ended up coming back unintentionally ...

Public is really getting tired of these internet problems. So much for thinking they were fixed.

Public Project Euler - if you haven't heard of it, and you're interested in mathematics, problem solving, and programming . . . you should totally check this site out.

It was featured as a part of the most recent XKCD newspost ( http://xkcd.com ), and as you might imagine, it is quite cool. I'll be joining the Project Euler fray officially starting on Friday or Saturday.

    I haven't picked my language ...

Public I really need to revamp my online presence now that I'm out of the tumultuous experience of changing jobs, locations, internet providers, and pretty much the majority of my life multiple times in the last year. I started the process, but life interrupted.

    Hm. Maybe this weekend. Maybe...

Public is hoping Hurricane Gustav doesn't hit this area. I've got too many deadlines to be w/o power/internet. Plus, WAR Open Beta starts in a week

    Public Hey peoples with photography.

I'm looking for a stock photo, preferably one that is CC:By licensed (it will be used commercially in a derivative work) that looks like the one that I have posted here but instead of being a food container, it's a suitcase and/or briefcase!

If you feel so inclined to grab a suitcase out of the closet and take a picture of it ...

Public Powncers! Interested in domain registration and the landscape of the web in general? You probably didn't know this. I know that I didn't until I stumbled across June's ICANN meeting Adopted Board Resolutions, and I'm pretty aware of major landscape changes on the web. This could be the biggest change to the internet landscape since the global (non country specific) top-level domain extensions were expanded beyond ...

Public So apparently PNGs don't show up as thumbnails in the Desktop app. I don't remember if they do or not on the Pownce website, but all I get is a white screen when I go to the Pownce website again, sooooo . . . I'll figure it out another time. :-)

    Public Desktop Thursday (second screen)

This is the other half of the Mandolux background.

As an aside: FNPDC still around? It's been a while since I was actively on Pownce rather than using Ping.fm to blast out.

    Also, I missed you.

    Public Desktop Thursday!

Wow. It's been a LONG time since I've participated in this Pownce activity. It's good to be back, eh?

This is part 1 of 2, since I have dual-screens. The wallpaper is a Mandolux ( http://mandolux.com ) diptych wallpaper that I love for my office computer.

    Enjoy!

Public I'm heading home for the day, Pownce. Even though I now have internet access, I might be not really using it actively for a few days. I've got a lot of stuff to take care of, and my router & cables are all still in storage.

    Have a good evening!

Public It's Word Association Time! Respond with the first word that you associate with the word that I give. To help you out, you can copy and paste everything between the two lines of asterisks (*) and just add the word next to the original word (An example: If I were to say "Nintendo", many people would respond "Wii" due to its recent contextual strength in popular culture). Please try to ...
