It's funny to see all the Twitterati flock to http://identi.ca - we're all so desparate for a Twitter that works. Why not just clone it?

    Coincidentally, I was just reading about this on Mashable and was suprised there was no mention of Pownce and to hear that people were using Friend Feed for things other that cataloguing their social networking sites.

    The article just seemed like a bit of promotion to me...

    It seems ironic that you cross-posted this to Pownce, which does have many improvements over Twitter, has been around longer than many of these others, and has generally good uptime.

    well when I tried it, identi.ca was just as slow as Twitter. I don't see the advantage to it...

    !andrewmeyer I'm still curious why people won't pull that trigger and go with Pownce. I'm sure things like SMS and a better mobile app is coming...it's a mystery.

    From what I've seen, a lot of people have moved to http://Plurk.com - all of BuzzTown seems to be there; I wonder where the TWIT army will go?

    Why not move to pownce as most of you twitter big shots have direct access to Kevin, it would thus be easier to nag him into making it work better than twitter! Its functionality is already better than twitter.

    I agree, Pownce is also much better than Twitter when it comes to threaded conversations. People seem to be flocking to FriendFeed for conversation. Why don't they just come here?

    Ditto the irony of posting here on Pownce. The thing I miss on all of the other services mentioned: SMS or text message integration. I do a lot of tweeting from my Blackberry, and prefer SMS over instant messaging.
