How do you guys feel about people posting on twitter and having the updates come to pownce? I will give my response after I see what others think. :p

    I ignore anyone who cross-posts.

When people do it constantly, I remove them as friends.

I'm not chasing after people trying to figure where the conversation is...

It depends on if it is a chatty post or a substantive post. If people have every "@somedude haha you are crazy!" post show up on Pownce I get annoyed and unfriend them. But there are some people who create interesting posts that just happen to be short enough to work.

HATE IT!!!!! In fact I consider unfriending these people. Especially when they are having back and fourth with someone on twitter, but it is showing up in pownce posts.

agree with all of the above.

As I've said before, if you are too lazy or boring to be able to update 2-4 different social sites, then you need help.

I still firmly believe Twitter is for "what you are doing" and Pownce is for everything else. Seems simple to me.

(this said, just to piss people off, I now have my Pownce RSS updating my twitter. hehe)

I think occasional cross-posting is fine. But to cross-post everything is actually mirroring which is bad and annoying. I have many friends on both twitter and pownce so when I post, I try to be as original as possible.

I'll unfriend avid cross-posters on Pownce, but selective cross-posting is fine.

To me the tools are about fomenting discussion. But many cross-posters just see it as a way to push their information out to many places. Then they only respond in Twitter. To me that is just one-way communication. I didn't friend these people on Pownce to read mere announcements. And I certainly didn't do so to read one half of a conversation that is happening somewhere else. That I find annoying.

But if you have a thought about X that would be of interest to people in both places, and you will follow responses in both places, then it's fine. Even then though I think we can more suitably tailor our messages to both the medium and the audience. If I've found some cool site I want to share, perhaps I'll post a brief Tweet with a link on Twitter, but post the link with slightly longer commentary here in Pownceland.

In my mind it's preferable to find the best way to communicate rather than the most convenient way.

I guess everyone is on par with each other. I think selective cross posting is acceptable, but I have been seeing quite a few @ messages, that are obviously for twitter, that don't fit in. I installed twhirl, and it has a cross post feature, but it took me about 10 seconds to come to the conclusion that it wouldn't be fair to friends on either network.
