    I would be curios if they would have included a gasoline car instead of diesel. it does not surprise me that the diesel got very high MPG since diesel contains so much more energy than standard gasoline. (which the prius uses) I can though completly relate to the driver of the prius, owning one myself I can say it dissapoints me greatly even though it is higher MPG than any other vehicle I have had. (42mpg vs 12mpg) Good find though.

    That's what I was going to say...the results aren't surprising because the car is marketed on how it compares to a gasoline vehicle, not a diesel. Diesel is much more common in Europe than the US. In the US right now, the Hybrid has an advantage when it comes to emissions...diesel is only available in the high-sulfur variety and emits 6 times the bad stuff as a hybrid. This is different from Europe where the fuel mix is cleaner and emissions more limited. The US is going that way, and when they do, there will be no advantage to the Hybrid left over diesel.
