  • Public I'm plugging this for a friend - if you're a comic fan, or have ever wanted to create your own comics but are a bit lazy, check out http://www.bitstrips.com

  • Public http://simplehelp.net broke the 3m pageview mark yesterday. It was 2 months, 2 weeks ago that it hit 2m, so I'm very pleased (it took about a year to get to 2m page views).

  • Public Yes I've said I won't promote my site here too much, and yes I'm doing it again. But this time it's for a contest where you can win $25, and win a donation to a non-profit for $25. So uh.. go enter, or something :)

  • Public To those of you who have been using OS X for a (fairly) long time - how would you compare the update/upgrade from Tiger to Leopard vs. Jaguar to Panther or Panther to Tiger? In terms of features, stuff that made you go 'wow' etc. I ask because I started using OS X @ Tiger, and though I'm very much enjoying Leopard, it's not a HUGE leap (imho) from ...

  • Public Between noon of yesterday and noon of today (PST), Stumbleupon has sent 13,575 people to one page on my blog. It's an article that I wrote about 3 weeks ago, on securely wiping hard drives. Stumbleupon has always sent me fairly steady traffic, at least a few thousand people a week. But it's been *exactly* one year (to the day) since they sent me this kind of ...

  • Public Love him or hate him (or if you're not Canadian, maybe have no idea who he is) - Don Cherry was dead-on right when he said that the "new and improved" shoulder pads and the instigator rule are to blame for injuries. It's those things that *allow* player stupidity, like diving your shoulder into someones head (literally, the guy dove into him). "He'll get what's coming to ...

  • Public Do you think Starbucks lobbied to have their name 'starbucks' added in the auto-complete dictionary on my cell phone? I've never 'typed' that word on my phone before, but it was an auto-complete option by the time I typed 'star'. Or do you think someone added it just because it's that common of a word now?

  • Public Garbage Strike Tip: How to catch fruit flies Outside workers, including garbage employees, went on strike on July 20th, 2007. They're still on strike. So we're approaching 2 months worth of garbage double-bagged @ the back of our kitchen. Tip found @ Lifehacker earlier this summer. I didn't know I'd ever have to use it myself.

  • Public OK that was weird. Someone just knocked on my door and when I opened it up, there was a mother and her (I'm guessing 4 year old?) daughter. The mother said "hello" and then right away looked at her daughter and said "Lauren, what do you have to say to this gentleman?". Lauren said "nooooo" and hid behind her mums leg. Her mum said "Lauren, you have something to ...

  • Public Here are 5 completely useless facts about me (this isn't a meme nor is it intended to be): 1) I've scrobbled 10,635 tracks to last.fm since Nov 2006 2) My iTunes library has 3266 songs, which is 12.3 days of music 3) I've seen over 135 different bands/artists perform live. 4) I am currently using 521 MB (17%) of my 2899 MB of ...

  • Public This is a copy and paste of someone else's recollection of a recent Warren Haynes (solo) show in Aspen, CO, that involves a friend of mine, Julie. I can't believe this happened. This is like a dream come true for her (and a lot of us). For the record, I would have fainted if he even talked to me.
