This is a copy and paste of someone else's recollection of a recent Warren Haynes (solo) show in Aspen, CO, that involves a friend of mine, Julie. I can't believe this happened. This is like a dream come true for her (and a lot of us). For the record, I would have fainted if he even talked to me.

"Warren plays the first encore (So Weak and Old Friend), and then walks behind the stage and comes back out with nothing on the set list for a second encore. So he starts talking and joking around and says, he never takes requests, but he doesn't have anything planned, so what do we want to hear? People are yelling out everything in the book (including War Pigs, which he did a couple bars of on the acoustic, he was cracking up). Anyway, after a couple minutes of everyone yelling great and crazy requests, he walks from the mic and LEANS DOWN to Julie and just asks her, "What do you want to hear?" -- without skipping a beat Julie says, "Hallelujah," a Leonard Cohen song the Mule did at the Fillmore last spring, that knocked Julie and CB over then. Warren laughed and said well, some songs are tough to do alone, then he whispers something to Brian, who scurries backstage. Warren plays two more songs, Brian tapes a
couple of pages to the monitors (the words), and for the final number he does "Hallelujah!" Just for Julie!!"

Very Cool!! Warren is a great player and apparently also quite the gentleman.
