Pro!
So Pownce has been hounding me to pay $20 for a Pro account. I'd like to hear some input from everyone about whether this would be worth it.
I gave $20 last year not for the "awesome Pro features" but rather to help get Pownce off the ground. It had promise (and still does) and I felt it would be worth it.
However, since then I have been less than perfectly happy with its progress in the past year. I continually have problems (often loading my personal page) and I've yet been able to "Accept All" friend requests without getting an error. They have also not really released any new dazzling Pro features so I feel less inclined to do it for that reason.
Still, I have faith that the Pownce developers are working hard to give us what we want. So the question is, is it worth $20?

I saw a couple posts like this on pownce and I agree w/ some ppl. you're a featured powncer so I think that along with w/e pro features you get is well worth the 20 dollars. Pro ends up being less than 2 dollars a month so I think it's def. worth it for you

Well, I thought it is worth just earlier today. But may be my decision was based on the same basis as your decision last year. What features do you request? I am curious to hear, what other people desire.

The Chinese in me says to save the $20 unless you actually use Pownce on a more regular basis where you can justify the need for a Pro account.

I think of it as an indie film and I am jsut trying to help them grown their business. It's only $20.00/yr. I spend that much buying beer at a bar in a few minutes. I really dont care about the pro features at all or even know what they are besides eliminating advertising.

I am having the same conundrum... But mine doesn't expire until March...

No question, I enjoy the extras, the 20.00 per year works out to .0547 cents per day. Or less than .40 per week. How much do you spend on a latte daily? or weekly. The answer is too easy.

The money you were going to give to Obama, give to Pownce instead. They could actual use the money.

!
RenderedCook43 the problem with that mentality is that everything could be looked upon like that. It is when all of this adds up.

It is bad news!

Ok, so then by that rationale I guess they should do this all for free?? Come on guys!! If you use Pownce a few times a week or daily, it must be pretty good right?? Ok, so with that safely tucked away are you (Haim) saying that they should work for free? Because let's face it, there is next to no ad revenue on this site?
I'm sorry, I guess I'm just a fool in the rain.........

All of this free stuff we have become so used to,, will be going the way of the do do folks, so don't assume it will continue.

do it. $20 is well worth it and I'm hoping Leah's got some things up her sleeve. My only wish is what's not in my control: get more of my friends to get in the habit of powncing the amusing, the ephemeral and the inane instead of emailing me. Pownce is so suited for that type of communication.
Again, do it. Pony up.

I would if I were you, and I will again. I always like to help projects that I find promissing. Now if we could just take a chunk out of Twitters userbase we would be moving forward smoothly!

The value-added over other services alone I think justifies the $20...great to get stuff for free, but then what's that saying about its worth to you when you have such a choice.
