Calling all McCain supporters: what are the main reasons you want to elect him president of the US? Please, no partisan attacks. I really want to know why.

First of all, I can't get behind his platform. I am vehemently opposed to abortion (except in the case of rape, incest, or the mother's life is in danger).

I also don't support same-sex-marriage and don't like his "we need to spead the wealth among everyone" attitude.

I am Libertarian and would want someone like Bob Barr to win but he never will. I just don't like socialism and want the person farthest from that so I would not vote for Oboma because he wants the Government to control everything.

Bi partisan experience. That's all. It would be a harder decision if both had bi partisan records, only one of these 2 big party candidates has reached across the aisle time after time.

I moved to this country years ago to escape socialism and Obama is the closest thing to Karl Marx here. No way I'm voting for him!

He understands that higher taxes kills jobs and harms the US economy, he has a real-world view of foreign policy and national security, and he'll nominate judges who are strict constitutionists.

Okay, why John McCain? I actually do have a few reasons. First and foremost, he's not dependent on a teleprompter. Senator Obama creeps me out when he doesn't teleprompter around. John McCain just feels far more human than Senator Obama when I watch either speak.

John McCain's policies are ones that help promote growth and development. One of the biggest drivers of the current economic woes is the cost of doing business. With Just-in-Time economics American businesses depend upon regular shipments. In the retail sector, increase costs of fuel drive up prices on store shelves. Increasing the energy supply takes longer to pull off but it is a long term step that is needed.

Unless we not only open up new sources of oil but also new refining capacity, we're screwed. Most of the nation's refining capacity is concentrated in the area of the Gulf of Mexico. Constantly having the nation's fuel subject to a supply chain breakdown in Hurricane Alley makes no sense. John McCain promotes policies that can help keep the country rolling if a hurricane takes out a refinery or two. Senator Obama doesn't.

That is just a little bit but are two of the big reasons why I would vote for Senator McCain.

I don't think I will vote for him, but if I had to pick a reason...Having one party control both the white house and congress is bad; I prefer to have a government which needs to make accommodations when passing laws. Also, I plan to be filthy fucking rich in the next few years, so the low taxes thing is nice.

I really like that this thread was started. I don't support McCain but I agree with some of what has been said here. There are a few points that I will research further.

Excellent thread ... I've wondered the same thing and it's good to read REAL reasons.
