Do something that gets your adrenaline pumping. Something that makes you very nervous will work too.

Hold breath, count to 20, breathe out. Do this 3-5 times. Good luck.

Drink a glass of water from the 'wrong' side of the glass.

Take a deep breath, then stop breathing. Swallow, but sort of "hold" the swallow half-way for as long as possible. Repeat until your hiccups are over. If you hiccup while you're holding your breath, hold from the beginning.

This stops all hiccups within 5 hiccups.

put a spoon in a cup of water. put the end of the spoon on your forehead and drink the water without spilling.

for some reason it works. i believe it b/c you have to concentrate on so many things at once, and the drinking makes it so you aren't breathing, it stops them... i dunno though.. its just a theory.

Haven't had hiccups in quite some time but I used to drink a glass of water from the opposite side of the rim. Lean over the glass and tip it away from you.

Like !leahbasskitten, I think you distract yourself enough that the brain stops sending signals to hiccup.

I hope you don't still have them since I'm contributing a day later.
