Public Notes

  • Public With all of the load shedding going on it was almost expected that there would be failures. A electricity sub-station blew up, and I mean exploded, just after being switched on again!

  • Public Finally, a decent profile picture. That chocolate covered strawberry was nice, but I preferred the chocolate dipped chocolate flavoured marshmallows. I promise not to do another chocolate fondue until I lose 10 pounds.

  • Public I have just realised that I can use mod rewrite to make links to my files appear normal while still redirecting to my PHP page for stats. This makes me happy

  • Public Yes! Access to the internet again. Only waited 5 weeks - 4 to get a phone line and 1 to get ADSL up and running.

  • Public What an incredible Rugby World Cup finale with SA outmaneuvering the English in a tryless game of strategy with both sides showing why they had reached the final game. South Africa however played a flawless world cup not losing a single game along the way. It makes me proud to be a South African. Final score: 15--6 , all from penalties.

  • Public The best thing about writing some freeware and hosting it myself is seeing people from around the globe visit the page. Visitors from 43 countries including: New Zealand, China, Singapore, Russia, Belarus, Turkey, Italy and France. And that is just one side of the world!

  • Public I just read "Tintin in the Congo" - I can't believe there existed a world as prejudiced as the one HergĂ© depicts and I hope that world never exists again. I now understand why the book was almost banned from South Africa.

  • Public I think I must be getting better at Javascript and Ajax. My latest widget only took me an evening's worth of work. It is a sidebar display of previous tumblelog posts. I'm displaying 5 posts from 200 posts ago.

  • Public South Africa trounced England in the Rugby World Cup 2007 (Pool A game): England 0 - 36 South Africa. Was almost fun to watch.

  • Public This is what happens when people don't make backups. A poor support technician sits all night long trying to repair things.

  • Public Pownce is beginning to feel like tumblr, just built with collaboration right from the onset. Makes me wonder what tumblr could become if they implement similar collaboration tools.

  • Public I just noticed a spider ambling down my arm. 1st reaction: fear and surprise. 2nd reaction: oh, cute spider. 3rd reaction: Argh, it's moving again! What is it with small critters and our fear of them?
