I started to type something, but the drool from reading the specs shorted out the keyboard

@ adam riggins: Does that mean this is a good system? This is my first iMac purchase for a computer.

That is an AWESOME system! :) I think that is near max for the iMac except for the HD, which you may prefer external anyway.

@ Howard: thanks. I have never bought an iMac computer so I didn't know. When I was at the Apple store today, I wasn't sure if the sales guy was just trying to sell me this system or not...I thought I would ask people like you.

Well, that does happen to be the top-of-the-line version. I know you enjoy editing photos, and the only thing with the iMac is that to you, the photos will be outstanding when you view them, but others using matte screens will see the "true" colors and it will be a little off from the way you edited it. I went with the 20" iMac and an external matte screen for editing, which would probably be best. The 24" is awesome though.

I spoke with an Apple representative and he said that I can connect a regular PC monitor to the Mac for this exact reason.

:) Yep Let us know how it goes. It is a wonderful system, and I only know like 0 people that had regrets after purchasing :D

But if you are going to print any of the pics go by what you see on a calibrated Mac display. That will be the most accurate.
