Pro!

I've been wanting to say this over the last few days, and now I'm just gonna get it posted already. More than one person has done this to me over and over and over again and I've had enough.

You are NOT — I repeat — you are NOT allowed to IM somebody with a statement (that evokes a feeling [such as anger, sadness, curiosity — whatever the feeling may be] and will cause that somebody to want to have an extreme desire to respond) and then quickly sign off before that person has a chance to say or react.

- This is unfair to that person.
- This is rude, and annoying.
- This is childish/immature behavior.

This kind of continued behavior WILL result in me blocking you.

I'm tired of it. STOP. I have better things to deal with, with my time, than your idiocy.

I apologize for the rant, but I really felt that this needed to be said.

Hoo-rah! Any such behavior via IM should be discouraged, and blocking is a great solution.

    I totally agree... it's like a hit-and-run.

    Well said.

I will add: anyone IMing me with a statement that evokes a negative feeling (such as anger, sadness, whinyness, etc.) after midnight will get warned and eventually blocked. No emo late at night please. Save it for the daylight hours when awake rational minds (as opposed to tired sleepy minds) can handle such things.

Well put! That just seems rude in general. IM is convenient but the same courtesies of a phone call should apply.
